"Save and borrow for a better tomorrow" A Credit Union is a financial co-operative institution that is owned and controlled by its members. It is operated for the purpose of promoting thrift and encouraging its members to save money regularly and borrow when they need it. Credit Unions are good for the local community because they do not need to make big profits for outside shareholders, so any profits made are used to run the Credit Union, or returned to members as a dividend.
